Home for Nativity! New Matching Gift Gets Us There!

I am elated to share some extraordinary news with you today!

A lot has been happening behind the scenes, and today I received confirmation that several generous benefactors have come together and committed to match every gift, dollar for dollar, up to $500,000.

That means that together we have the opportunity to raise $500,000, unlock $1,000,000, and COMPLETE our Cultural Center–Parish Hall so that, by God's grace, we can celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Christ in our permanent parish home! Glory to God!

For over a year, we have faithfully worshipped wherever the Lord has provided. For every service we unpack, set up, pray together, and then pack everything away again. Through it all, God has blessed our parish beyond anything we could have imagined.

Now, we are closer than ever to coming home.

What You Have Already Built

Because of your generosity, we have already accomplished so much in our future Parish Hall:

✓ Demolition completed

✓ Extensive structural concrete work completed

✓ Raised the ceiling by one foot

✓ Reinforced the entire roof structure

✓ Installed hurricane-impact windows and doors

✓ Completed the framing for our kitchen and restroom expansion

✓ Received our essential construction permit

✓ Secured our general contractor and subcontractors

And today, construction is actively moving forward! The foundation for our expansion is ready to be poured.

Now, Together, We Can Complete

• New hurricane-rated roof

• Electrical system

• HVAC

• Plumbing

• Commercial kitchen

• ADA-compliant restrooms

• Epoxy flooring

• Drywall and interior finishes

• Audio-Visual system

Soon, this building will become the heart of our parish—a place for Divine Services, fellowship, Sunday School, Orthodox education, children's programs, concerts, cultural events, and so much more.

We will finally be home.

Our Immediate Goal: Bringing Our Parish Home

Many people have asked why we are completing the Cultural Center–Parish Hall before the Cathedral itself.

The answer is simple: this is the fastest way to bring our parish to its permanent home.

Completing the Parish Hall allows us to:

✓ Move onto and fully utilize our Cathedral campus

✓ Have a home for Divine Services

✓ Gather every Sunday for fellowship and coffee hour

✓ Open our Cultural & Music Center

✓ Begin Sunday School, spiritual education, children's programs, and parish ministries in our own home

✓ Eliminate the expense and uncertainty of temporary worship facilities

✓ Continue construction of the Cathedral simultaneously

Most importantly, after more than a year of worshipping in borrowed spaces, our Orthodox family will finally have a permanent place to pray, gather, learn, and grow. We pray to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Christ together in our new parish home.

Faithful Stewardship

From the very beginning, we have worked hard to be faithful stewards of every dollar entrusted to this project. We have faced challenges affecting construction projects across South Florida—significant inflation in material costs, rising labor expenses, and a shortage of skilled tradespeople. Despite these obstacles, we refused to settle for the first price or the easiest path.

Through careful planning, countless hours of negotiation, and the generosity of our Orthodox general contractor—who has accepted only a modest profit because he believes in this mission—we have reduced construction costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars while maintaining the quality our parish deserves.

Here are just a few examples:

Roof: $120,000 → $95,000

HVAC: $400,000 → $210,000

Plumbing & Electrical: $225,000+ → $190,000

Your Gift Has Twice the Impact

NOW, because every gift is matched...

Your $25 gift becomes $50 and helps build the walls of our future parish home.

Your $100 gift becomes $200 and helps build the new kitchen, where thousands of meals will be prepared for parish gatherings, celebrations, and community events.

Your $1,000 gift becomes $2,000 and helps install the flooring that will welcome generations through our Cultural Center.

Your $5,000 gift becomes $10,000 and helps install the electrical systems that will illuminate our Parish Hall, classrooms, kitchen, and gathering spaces.

Your $25,000 gift becomes $50,000 and will fund approximately half of our new hurricane-rated roof, protecting our parish home for generations to come.

Every gift—large or small—moves construction forward and brings us one step closer to opening the doors of our permanent parish home.

Your gift becomes part of the birth of an Orthodox Cathedral and Cultural Center in America.

If you have been waiting for the right moment to make a special gift, I truly believe this is that moment.

With gratitude, joy, and prayers,
