I am thrilled to share with you the chosen emblem of our faith that will grace the front of our cathedral – a majestic mosaic of the Resurrection. God willing, this sacred art, selected by our rector, Metropolitan Nicholas, will adorn the entrance of the ResurrectionOrthodox Cathedral, inviting all into a space of reverence and renewal.
The icon depicts the momentous event of the Resurrection, with Christ standing resolute over the vanquished gates of Hades, a beacon of hope and salvation. The stark white of His garments contrasts with the dark abyss beneath, symbolizing the Light of the World dispelling the shadows of death. Christ’s arms, outspread, welcome us into the embrace of His saving grace, reflecting the boundless love He offers.
Beneath Him, the scattered keys and broken chains signify our liberation from death’s grip, an assurance of life eternal through His triumph. Accompanied by an angelic witness, this scene encapsulates the profound mystery of our faith: the victory over death and the promise of resurrection.
As this icon takes its place above the cathedral doors, it will not only be a testament to our shared beliefs but also a constant inspiration for us to live in the light of the Resurrection. It is a symbol of the enduring hope we carry within us, a hope that we are called to share with the world.

С большой радостью хочу сообщить Вам, что наш Собор скоро украсит величественная мозаика Воскресения Христова – символ нашей веры. Это произведение, выбранное нашим настоятелем - митрополитом Николаем, возвысится над входом в Воскресенский собор, встречая всех прихожан атмосферой благоговения и обновления.
На иконе изображено торжественное событие Воскресения Господа нашего Иисуса Христа: Христос стоит над поверженными вратами ада, являясь маяком надежды и спасения. Непроницаемый белоснежный цвет Его одежд контрастирует с темнотой пучины под Ним, символизируя Лик Мира, рассеивающий тени смерти. Раскинутые в объятие руки Христа приветствуют нас, предлагая спасение и отражая безмерную любовь, которую Он нам дарует.
Под ногами Христа разбросаны ключи и цепи – знаки нашего освобождения от оков смерти и гарантия вечной жизни через Его победу над смертью. Ангельский свидетель, сопровождающий эту сцену, подчеркивает глубокую тайну нашего спасения: победу над смертью и обещание воскресения. Когда эта икона вознесется над дверьми собора, она станет не только свидетельством наших общих убеждений, но и постоянным источником вдохновения для всех нас жить в свете Воскресения. Это символ вечной надежды, которую мы храним в своих сердцах и которой призваны делиться с миром.
