May God’s blessing be upon you all!
Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord!
Today we must again address you regarding the current situation, which once more distracts us all from prayer, disrupts our spiritual state, and causes offense to the Church and her people.
Beginning on the evening of Saturday, August 29, and yesterday, Sunday, August 30 – without our blessing and somehow making use of our community’s mailing list – certain individuals, sowing discord and having no legitimate connection to our parish, have been disseminating e-mails and videos to our chat groups and posting information on social media. This constitutes a direct affront to the feelings of our parishioners and a crude interference intended to divide our church family and destroy the good work associated with the construction of the Cathedral dedicated to Christ’s Resurrection.
With our blessing, Archpriest Alexandre Anchoutine visited you, prayed with you, and explained everything in detail. He also asked for everyone’s forgiveness regarding these events and expressed the hope that we might continue our spiritual lives, in the words of the Apostle Paul, maintaining “the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:3).
Yet, it seems some have not heeded his request and have no desire to do so.
God willing, this coming Sunday, September 6, we will pray together again at Liturgy and continue to ask the Lord for help in our labors for the good of the Church and the salvation of our souls.
Once again, we call upon you all to maintain peace and calm, reminding you that any actions taken within the Church or in the Church’s name without a blessing, and which involve inappropriate conduct toward others, harm our spiritual life and bring deep sorrow to our entire community.
We invoke God’s blessing upon you all!
Bp. +Theodosius
