Before we knew we would be under contract for a property, preparations were already underway for the visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas and the Wonderworking Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God—the treasured icon of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, which for centuries has guided the faithful, brought healing, and drawn countless souls closer to God.

At the time, we were still searching for a permanent home for our future Cathedral. Then, just weeks before the Metropolitan's long-planned visit, the Lord opened the door to the ideal property in Deerfield Beach. The timing could only be described as providential, affirming God's guiding hand throughout our journey.

During his visit, Metropolitan Nicholas led parishioners and faithful from neighboring parishes to the newly acquired property, where he prayed and blessed the site with the Wonderworking Kursk-Root Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. That sacred moment consecrated the property as the future home of the Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral.

The joy of that day was overwhelming—a true foretaste of Pascha. Standing beneath the protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, we were reminded that this Cathedral is being built not through human effort alone, but through God's providence and mercy.

As we continue this sacred undertaking, we look toward a future in which the Cathedral serves as a thriving Orthodox parish with daily Divine Liturgy, multiple clergy, a vibrant choir, faithful altar servers, and a growing parish family. It will be a permanent Orthodox home for generations of faithful in South Florida and for countless visitors who seek an Orthodox church while visiting the Miami area.
